Where do I start?
Are you ready to film every month?
Where do I start?
Honestly, nobody knows.
I think the best advice anyone could give and actor would be, just start filming. Stop waiting for things to happen.
Here’s some advice: Stop thinking someone else has all the answers, because they don’t. Unless you’re hearing it directly from a top Hollywood director or producer, most people are figuring it out as they go.
This is the absolute best book on Acting. Here's the Amazon link. It might be on Ebay for cheaper. It's worth every dime.
Here is a playlist of the same book. Watch every second of It. Then watch It again. Part 1. Part 2.
What is 100% certain? You have to be great. You have to be so great that casting feels like they’re losing something by not hiring you. Be so good in the audition that they can already see you in the role. Be so natural delivering the lines that it feels like you’re inventing the words as you say them.
Be so great that people want you in their projects. And the only way to get there is to do it over and over again. It won't happen overnight. It'll take years.
Casting Director Workshops
I hate them. I spent years speaking out against them, when nobody else had the guts to do it. You do you, boo boo. Just know what you're paying for.
You're paying for access. It's that simple. There are some amazing classes out there being taught by casting directors, who have years of actual directing experience. There's value In that. But don't pay for a workshop with an assistant, who mostly makes coffee runs. I get It. You want to get Into that office. Just do your research. Maybe do It once, but If you're just paying for a bunch of workshops, and not getting called In, you're wasting your money. Also, make sure you're good.
